Direct burial fibre optic cables do not require any additional protective covers to be buried directly into the ground. They may be exposed to harsh environmental conditions such as changes in temperature and humidity of the soil.
The range of direct burial fibre optic cables includes cables with central loose tube or stranded multi loose tubes construction, armoured with fibre reinforced plastic (FRP), steel wire armoured (SWA) or corrugated steel tape (CST). These cables have double or single outer sheath and are suitable for difficult installation conditions.
